Still cut from ″Inside Out 2″ [WALT DISNEY COMPANY KOREA]
“Inside Out 2” became the Pixar animation with the most moviegoers in Korea on Saturday, breaking the record held by last year’s film “Elemental.”
The film had accumulated 7.3 million viewers by 7 a.m. on Saturday and 7.65 million by Sunday, according to Walt Disney Company Korea. Pixar’s “Elemental” had recorded a total of 7.24 million viewers.
"Inside Out 2," released on June 12, topped the domestic box office with more than 2.35 million moviegoers in the first week of its release, according to the Korea Box Office Information System (Kobis).
The movie is a sequel to the 2015 film “Inside Out,” which was well-received for depicting the emotions of a girl named Riley as personified characters. The sequel deals with Riley hitting puberty, introducing more emotions and emotional ups and downs.
The original cast of the film carries over into the sequel, except for Liza Lapira, who played Disgust, Tony Hale, who played Fear, and Kensington Tallman, who played Riley.
“Inside Out 2” is directed by Kelsey Mann. Mann has previously been involved in other Pixar films, being a story supervisor for “Monsters University” (2013), “The Good Dinosaur” (2015) and “Onward” (2020).
